Audition to perform at ’Plain festival

YoungstaCPT will perform at the Mitchells Plain Festival.

Artists and entertainers have a chance to audition to perform at the 2019 DStv Mitchell’s Plain Festival, sharing a platform with Early B, YoungstaCPT and Salome.

From Friday November 29 to Sunday December 1, thousands of people from all across the Western Cape will come together at Westridge Gardens to celebrate the 11th anniversary of the DStv Mitchell’s Plain Festival in association with The Plainsman.

Festival director Rozario Brown describes it as the hallmark event on the Cape Flats, drawing together artists and various organisations Some of Cape Town and SA’s leading entertainers will perform
at the event, including YoungstaCPT, Early B, Salome and Robin Pieters.

Heart FM will broadcast live from the event throughout the weekend.

The five finalists in the High School DJ of the Year competition will strut their stuff and show off their skills behind the wheels of steel to impress the judges during the search for the ultimate high school DJ in Cape Town.

SAPS, City Law Enforcement, Metro Police, private security staff and neighbourhood watch members are part of the event’s security arrangements.

Auditions for artists hoping to fill one of the ten slots to perform at the festival will take place at the V&A Waterfront Amphitheatre on Sunday November 10, from 11am to 5pm. Those interested in auditioning must register before 3pm on Thursday November 7.

No live bands will be allowed to audition. Those auditioning must present their IDs, and under-16s must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

The judges’ decision will be final and no correspondence or discussions will be entered into. No foul language will be tolerated. Each artist will have two minutes to impress the audience and the judges. Artists must take their music on a USB flash drive.
